Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Canada Service Pros (“the Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the Platform. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Canada Service Pros.

2. The Platform

Canada Service Pros is an online marketplace that connects Canadian homeowners with local service professionals. We are a technology platform — we do not provide home services directly, and we are not a party to any agreement between homeowners and service professionals.

We do not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of services provided by professionals listed on our platform. Homeowners are responsible for independently verifying credentials and making hiring decisions.

3. Homeowner Terms

As a homeowner using the Platform, you agree to:

• Provide accurate contact information and project details when submitting quote requests

• Communicate respectfully with service professionals

• Not use the Platform for fraudulent, illegal, or deceptive purposes

• Understand that quotes are estimates and final pricing is between you and the service professional

4. Service Professional Terms

As a service professional using the Platform, you agree to:

• Hold all licences, certifications, and insurance required by your province to perform the services you offer

• Maintain valid Commercial General Liability (CGL) insurance with a minimum of $2,000,000 CAD in coverage

• Maintain valid WSIB or WCB clearance as required by your province

• Provide accurate and truthful information in your profile, including business details, credentials, and portfolio

• Respond to quote requests professionally and in a timely manner

• Not misrepresent your qualifications, experience, or credentials

• Comply with all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws and regulations

5. Subscriptions and Payments

Service professionals may subscribe to paid plans to access premium features. All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and are subject to applicable taxes (HST, GST, PST, QST) based on your province.

All paid plans include a 30-day free trial. You will not be charged until the trial period ends. You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal or by contacting us.

Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe’s Terms of Service.

6. Verification and Badges

We offer three verification tiers: Registered, Verified, and Certified Pro. Verification involves reviewing documents submitted by service professionals, including trade licences, insurance certificates, and identification.

Verification badges indicate that we have reviewed specific documents — they do not constitute an endorsement, guarantee, or warranty of the professional’s work quality. Homeowners should independently verify credentials and check provincial licensing registries where applicable (e.g., ESA, TSSA, RBQ, SkilledTradesBC).

7. Reviews and Content

Users may submit reviews and other content to the Platform. You retain ownership of your content but grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display it on the Platform.

Reviews must be honest and based on genuine experiences. We reserve the right to remove reviews that are fraudulent, defamatory, or violate these terms. We do not allow paid suppression of reviews.

8. Limitation of Liability

Canada Service Pros is a marketplace platform. We are not responsible for the actions, omissions, quality of work, or conduct of any service professional or homeowner.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Canada Service Pros shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform.

9. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, misrepresent credentials, engage in fraudulent activity, or receive consistent negative feedback. Service professionals whose accounts are terminated will not be entitled to a refund of subscription fees.

10. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario.

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting a notice on the Platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
